Paula –
I have plantar fasciitis and have to wear prescription orthotics. I take the inner liner out and my orthotics fit in the shoe perfectly. I love the 608 series and won’t wear anything else. Also, I can get these in narrow width.
Kaye –
I was absolutely blown away with these shoes! I have worn them for two days without my orthotics! This is unheard of. I’m so happy with the innersoles…there’s more support than before I think. I love their look too. Thank you.

I’ve worn New Balance shoes since the 70’s and have never had a more comfortable athletic shoe. For my athletic history, I started out running, then went to walking, then step aerobics, and now back to walking. I’m in my 70’s and New Balance is “my shoe”. Thanks!

These shoes where same size New Balance as I normally buy except they were stiffer than the fabric type New Balance athletic shoe. Because they were stiffer the toes felt a bit tight. I hope they stretch out a bit.

This is by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever put on my feet. Immediately it felt as if they were nicely broken in. The support was wonderful. Neither were they too heavy, although I know lighter shoes were available. I plan to wear these for exercise classes at our local health club. If anything changes I will append this review.

I work in a clinical setting, lots of walking, I gave the arch support a moderate only because I use a Powerstep Pulse insole for all my athletic shoes, before inserting that I did okay but am better with the insole. These shoes were exactly what I was looking for, hope they keep this style as is, I get new shoes annually for work. The comfort, design, durability is what I was looking for and have spent much more money for shoes, the reviews I read before ordering helped make my decision. I’ve had 2 hips replaced, one knee and am my early 60’s, this shoe is the best I’ve worn in quite awhile. I would definitely wear these for walking and have already had coworkers ask where I got them, basic styling, I’ve done all the colors and mesh toe boxes, so over them for what I need.

Got for working on concrete floor 8 hrs a day have had bone spurs these shoes are very comfortable left shoe sqweeks some when you walk but not enough to be loud may be due to my right foot being longer than the left I will purchase a pair for backup love these shoes good price too

These New Balance shoes are very comfortable. I wear a 9 1/2 narrow and these shoes fit perfectly. They have lots of support for doing aerobics and step. I would like to have choices in colors.

Heel too wide. Toe box too narrow. Not much arch support at all. So basically did not fit my feet. Very pretty shoe and wish it had fit.
NSK –
These are nice running shoes. But my big toe was very close to the front of the shoe, which might not have been a problem if that area were mostly mesh, but with the faux leather I didn’t think I could count on any easing or stretching of the fit. After more thought, I decided that a really good fit is SO important to me for my running shoes that I should try them on before buying. I know that Zappos offers free returns, but my personal preference is to try before buying for this type of shoe. I am still very happy with the dress shoes I bought earlier this year – they are perfect.

This is my very favorite shoe EVER! Great for walking all over Disneyworld!
And they are feminine:)
Melissa –
I have been looking endlessly for a training shoe that I can wear during my HIIT workouts. Need stability and cushion without too deep of a heel bed. As soon as I saw these, I wasn’t a fan of the style in person, and the toe was unusually narrow. I had a hard time putting my foot in them so they went right back in the box. I found Asics gel that I like better, sothese are going back.
Mizzou –
I have narrow, flat feet so fitting running shoes can be challenging. These were a half size smaller than what I normally wear so I returned for a 9 1/2. They come in narrow and the removable inserts are must haves for my orthotics. No break-in needed to be just great. And my feet don’t look like skis!
Yvonne –
New Balance are not what they use to be; the arch support is mediocre, the narrow width is still loose. On the right sneaker, my toe hits the end and I’ve always ordered and worn comfortably a 10N. Sad that these sneaks r not what they once were.
Sue –
These have been my go to shoes for many years. I need a wide shoe with a tall toebox. I can fit a comfy insole in these shoes to make them softer on the bottom of my feet and still have enough room so my toes are comfortable. Will continue to buy this style.
Kate –
I have a wide foot and have difficulty finding shoes with wide enough toe box. The fit me perfectly. I love the foam insert, just the right amount of cushioning without feeling like walking on pillows. Good grip on the outsole. I had a little heel slip but I used lace lock technique with the laces, the included laces were long enough for this and it took care of the heel slip. I think I found my favorite shoe.

I had hopes that these would fit, unfortunately they need to be wider with a toe box that is not pointy. Definitely not enough room for my feet to feel comfortable. Normally New Balance is my go to, not this time. It is a sturdy shoe.

Do not waste your money- especially if you wear a narrow shoe. These new shoes are much more uncomfortable than my old, well-worn sneakers. They do not hold the foot securely during ANY activities.
I am really disappointed in New Balance. They used to be my “go to” shoe.
Joe –
I purchased two pair of 608 in the last year they’ve lasted six months or less with either of the heel coming apart or the toe coming apart. I am elderly I wear several different shoes and the course of a week so another words these are not being beat up. I use them just for walking but yet the toe and heel came apart. New balance has been very generous to send me a coupon for the purchase of another pair, but for over the last 30 years I’ve watched the quality go downhill.

Been wearing New Balance for many years, this model for the last 5. A good solid shoe. I get a full year before the tread wears away (they’re worn about an hour a day for dog walks and uasual shopping trips). My foot is a big 9 and this brand is the best fit. I can’t speak to arch support as I remove the insole with an orthotic. I’m grateful these insoles are removable! My only complaint is the heel stop. The material simply falls apart in just a few months. It doesn’t make the shoes unusable but its unsightly and does wear out my socks.

Quality was up to Nee Balance standards but due to my age my foot is wide and toes do not lie flat so toe box depth made my foot uncomfortable.

I needed water-resistant, comfortable shoes for walking, and these shoes fit the bill. I have flat feet/weak ankles and these shoes are very supportive around the ankles. I needed to insert a tongue pad (narrow feet but need the B to accommodate orthotics) and they fit very well.

Been wearing this particular shoe for years because they feel so good on my feet, which I have some physical issues with. I love them, fit well and have a good arch support. I get fast service, fast shipping and great customer service every time I order from Zappo’s.

This is the first exercise sneaker I’ve ever found in a narrow width. I can always count New on Balance to remember women who need narrow widths. I’m an 8 narrow. This shoe gives me the stability in exercise class that my regular tennis sneakers (New Balance) did not. I still love my New Balance tennis sneaker. They are perfect for tennis. These sneakers are perfect for the gym.
