In the wide width, the heel was too wide. And with an orthotic insert, the heel was also too shallow. I’m usually very happy with New Balance, but the cut of these just didn’t work for me. My heels were sliding around with every step.

I’ve tried lots of shoes. I have problems with over pronation and plantar fasciitis. I’ve tried Alegria, Brooks, Birkenstock, Asics, you name it, I’ve worn it. With most shoes my feet still hurt but these are great. I’ve finally found shoes that hit my arch in just the right place. I had originally ordered a 10.5 because I thought I was a 10.5 but they were a bit snug so I sent them back and got the 11 and they are perfect. When I reordered I got them the next day! Super fast. Thank you Zappos for excellent service and a great shoe!

This is a great shoe is you need shoes that are wide in the toe box but narrow in the heel. This is the first pair of shoes that I had that didn’t require any breaking in. There is some extra conditioning in the heel which gives it a nice feel when walking. I walked 3 miles the first day I got them and my feet didn’t ache afterwards.

These shoes rock! I’ve worn New Balance for years and they’ve never failed me. And this price was about the same as the store, only I didn’t have to go out! Love the free shipping and return policy, too!

Not too happy with these shoes, but the NB WX622 could not be found on the Zappos pages when I ordered. Hmm…maybe discontinued? Anyway, these NB WW577 not as comfortable as the 622’s, and the toe is much wider — looks (feels) like duck shoes. Won’t buy them again – not great support in any way to write home about either.

These are very comfortable walking shoes. Lots of padding and a generous toe box.

I live in a city where it is impossible to buy narrow shoes. After years of making do with mediums, I returned to Zappos good fit.

I bought these shoes for work and I am not disappointed. These shoes are very comfortable and they are made in the USA! I have never shopped at Zappos before, but will definitely shop again! I initially ordered a different pair of shoes and they did not fit properly. The return process was painless and free! I ordered another pair once I received a credit and they shipped my new order overnight! Great customer service!

These shoes are very different from the 576, it seems smaller and not as wide. I am not happy with the 577.

These are my go to walking shoes. I had trouble finding anything I wanted this time at a reasonable price. I do not want any of the rocker shoes – just the old standby. And I do not want Velcro! There is not much style to this, but it fits and does the job. New Balance is pretty much the only brand I will buy on line, because the sizing, once you find the last that works for you, is fairly predictable.

I have terrible feet and wanted a cushiony, shoe with a straight last and no rocker bottom. This looked like it would be okay – not as much forefoot cushioning, but I have worn it for four days and the shoes immediately developed this strange crease across the toe box, which rubbed a couple of my toes raw on top – through socks! This has never happened before. I just felt inside to top, at the bottom of the placket, and the layers of fabric at the end is separating and curling inside the shoe. I don’t know what is going on, but these seem really cheaply made. I would rather pay a bit more and get a properly made shoe. I am considering calling customer service at either Zappos or New Balance to see if I can return them.

This shoe has a deeper toe box than most, which is why I bought it, besides having a nice classic style. The service at Zappos is A+. I got my shoes in 1 day and when speaking with your associate on the phone, was like talking to a friend.

I love these shoes. In fact, it’s the second time I’ve bought this shoe from Zappos. There was nothing wrong with the first pair; I just wore them out. I liked the fit so much, I decided not to mess around with trying a different style and stick with what works for me. The shoes are great and Zappos customer service is awesome!

I live in my sneakers and stand on my feet all day. This sneaker fits very well and gave me good support. I wear a wide width, and this sneaker has the best fit for my feet. I have orthotic inserts also, which fit inside these shoes very well. I purchased this pair because I already had a white pair which I like. It’s a plain style, but my feet feel great, and they don’t crush my feet.

Returned…back of shoe very low…felt is was slipping off as walking.

I ordered a size 7 which I have been wearing for a long time in different brands of shoes. These shoes I had to order in a 7 1/2. I also ordered a wide width but these are a little more narrower.

I’ve been wearing New Balance walking shoes (WW811) for years (many different pairs; not the same pair for years!) and was very happy with them. They apparently no longer make them anywhere I looked online, and I thought I’d try these instead of the 812s which look similar but cost far more. The shoe fit fine, but walking in them I felt like it was unstable and initially thought they were defective. But when I held them up next to the 811s, I noticed that the sole of the shoe is much more narrow in the center of the foot – if you look at the bottom of the shoe, it looks hourglass-shaped. My previous shoes had mostly straight sides. Walking in them, I kept feeling like my left foot was turning out and I was going to fall over, even losing my balance for a second. The shoes are otherwise comfortable and fit well, but I’m just not used to the totally different shape. When you have a large, wide foot as I do (9D), it feels more comfortable to have a wider, stable base for the shoe.

I bought these for my elderly mother, who is a little unsteady on her feet. She loves them! She also has wide feet, and apparently these are a great fit.

Maybe these are not the prettiest shoes ever, but wow are they comfortable! I wore these for two weeks sightseeing in Hong Kong, and my feet never hurt once. There were lots of steep hills, stairs, and walking on pavement. No problem! Even after 10 hours of constant walking. These babies can take it!

I purchased these shoes based on reviews I had read on line. They lived up to their positive comments. Very good value for the price.

Ordered 8.5 & 9 to be sure I had the correct size. Kept one pair and returning the other was simple. The shoe gives excellent support to feet with a bunion and hammertoe and deteriorating ligaments, I’m 80 years old and require a deep toe box which 577 has along with a nice snug heel. Excellent shoe for every day/walking.

I bought these to replace my beloved 845s that I wore for years. In my opinion, they do not measure up and I am shopping again. For walking shoes, they do not seem to have enough cushion and my feet hurt after long walks. My biggest complaint, however, is they are the ugliest athletic shoes I have ever owned. Very large and clunky-looking. I call them my “nurse” shoes.

These shoes fit perfectly and felt comfortable from the first moment I wore them. True to size, width and quality — I will definitely be looking for this same shoe when it comes time to purchase again.

I wear a 10 wide. I was told Asics made wide shoes so I ordered those first but they were narrower than my loafers (and too short!). Zappos Customer Service helped me exchange them for New Balance WW577 which fit perfectly in length and width and were comfortable out of the box. Solid leather keeps my feet warmer than mesh in cool/cold weather.

This is my third pair of these shoes. I use them for daily walks, exercise and work outdoors. They wear well, are consistent in sizing and quality. I like them because they have a wide base for stability, snug heel, high and wide toe box, and will take my inserts. Also the treads are ample and easy to clean instead of deep and hard to clean. The sides aren’t so high that they bump on my ankles. No pressure on my little toe or on my other joints. I am 61, wear a 9.5 2AA. I walk about 1.5 miles per day and replace these shoes about every 18 months. Attached is a photograph showing side by side a 9 month old pair with a new pair. For fashion tennis shoes I like Coach, Sperry, Vionics.
