Mary –
I purchased this same shoe in 8 EE two years ago which I have worn comfortably, and just purchased another pair a few days ago. These are noticeably narrower than the last pair, at least 1/4 inch narrower at the widest part of the toe, and are not comfortable. I will send them back and try to reorder larger. They are a very attractive shoe, but I have no idea why New Balance is making shoes much narrower despite being the exact same model and size.

I have a wide foot and the wide in this was plenty wide enough so this is a good shoe if you have a genuinely wide foot. If your foot is only slightly wide, the wide might be too wide. I have worn them for tennis several times and they are great. No break-in period needed. They also feel light on even though they are supportive and leather or faux leather (not sure which). I wear a 9.5 shoe but often go up a half size in sneakers so I ordered both a 9.5W and 10W. In the 9.5 my toes were very close to the top so I kept the 10s and returned the 9.5 (thank you Zappos). I am glad I went with the larger size because my toes don’t jam into the top of the shoe while playing tennis. I also ordered the WC804 New Balance. The 804 comes up higher on the ankle than the 806 and since this bothers by ankles I returned the 804 (thank you again Zappos). Great shoe. Like it much better than my Babolat which never fit that great.

I ordered many different shoes to try for tennis and these in an 11 narrow worked the best. I tried a number of other New Balance in narrow and some K Swiss that run narrow, but these were easily the winner. All of my sandals are a 9.5 Narrow and occasionally I will wear a 10 in some shoes. However, in these and in my running shoes I go with an 11 narrow. I tried them out for a few hours of tennis and had no breaking in period. I am very happy with this tennis shoe. I put Superfeet inserts into these shoes and they fit fine.

I have always used New Balance for all of my sneaker needs. I have very wide feet and my tennis shoes are fabulous. Unfortunately, New Balance has changed the sizing of its “wide” and the wide is now too narrow for me. I have tried wide in several of the styles and their sizing is consistent. No wides fit me. Bummer.

These shoes offer the support needed on the tennis court and they are comfortable and good looking. Also, are forgiving of my bunions! I normally wear a 61/2 bought these in a 7.

Excellent stable shoe. This replaces my WC803. I had severe (grade 3) injury and since am more prone to rolling ankle. These keep me moving side-to-side without worry. Recommended for tennis by orthopedist at sports medicine clinic here in San Francisco.

Why not just order two pairs of shoes when you find ones you like? I should have — ten years ago. With help from chat person, I found these which are similar (others they don’t make anymore). And yes, this time I ordered two pair right away. With policy you can return if not right, there was no reason not to. They were right — fit great. Only thing is they look so clean, but I’ll get used to that. Also, I had a credit sitting for more than the time allotted. When I found it, they cut a check anyway, even though it had expired. How can you fault this company? They go out of their way to make buying shoes pleasant and painless (yeah, most women love to buy shoes, but I’m not a shopper). Painless shopping is good.

I have worn these tennis sneakers forever, and considered them the best. They now all of a sudden are fitting differently, at least half a size smaller. I am returning for half a size larger with the hope that it will be suitable. I cannot imagine why any change in the traditional fit was made.

Love these shoes for pickleball! Do yourself a favor and order a 1/2 size larger…they’ll fit then.

Either shoes are getting narrower or my foot is getting wider as I have not been able to find a ladies tennis shoe in Wide that is wide enough. I searched for 3 months and finally found that this shoe come in a double wide. I even tried mens but they were not wide enough or were too long. Thank you New Balance for making this shoe and thank you Zappos for selling them!

take everyone’s advise order 1/2 larger fit it wonderful and very comfortable

This was my go to tennis shoe, the one that accommodated my hammertoe, bunions and x-wide feet. I was so disappointed to find that it no longer works because, as an NB rep explained, they now make shoes in China and have changed and narrowed the last on which the shoe is formed. I am REALLY sad and disappointed in NB. This change may save them a few cents per shoe but will leave out loyal customers. Thank goodness for Zappos great customer care!

This is hands down the narrowest athletic shoe I’ve found. Feeling good about the support I’m getting now, since my foot isn’t sliding from side-to-side even though laces are tied as snugly as possible. A bit stiff, but is working out nicely – since I’ve never had a shoe fit like this, my feet are getting accustomed to shoes that stay in place. Wish it came in more color options.

Think this shoe will be great; however with my orthotic insert I need to go up half a size. So happy Zappos carries a narrow shoe specifically for tennis as they are hard to find! Thank you, Zappos!

I have a narrow foot and have been wearing New Balance shoes for this reason. I play a lot of tennis and have had probably a dozen pairs of this same shoe because they fit me perfectly. I even wear a level 2 ankle brace in the left shoe and still get a good fit. I also think they are very well made and look great with any color. I won’t change from this shoe unless they quit making them!

I play tennis regularly. These shoes fit my narrow (AA) foot and give good support for rigorous play.

I have to order the 9.5 2AA when I normally wear a 9 2AA. This is at least my third pair of these tennis shoes. I hope New Balance keeps making them and Zappo’s keeps selling them, because I don’t know what I’d do without them!

My feet are short and wide. For 67 years I have struggled with finding shoes that fit comfortably. Finally, New Balance has offered a shoe for pickle ball in my size 5.5 extra wide. They fit!

Use them for pickle ball. Had a NB court shoe that was 1/2 the price and very comfortable. Decided I needed something with more structure in the upper. The 806 with leather is perfect. Comfortable with traction and support that gives me confidence to chase after difficult shots.

I am an avid 4.0 tennis player and I only wear New Balance tennis shoes because they come in a narrow width. At this moment, I have two pairs of the 806 shoes in my closet and one pair in my tennis bag. I will be wearing the New Balance 806 when I compete at the USTA 55+ 8.0 Nationals representing the Pacific Northwest Section in Orlando, Florida in October at the USTA National Campus!

I ordered 1/2 size larger than I usually wear a Wide and Double wide. With both, the toe box tapers too quickly resulting in a shoe with a narrow toe box and wide heel. The opposite of what my feet require.

I have wide feet so that is why I like New Balance. After reading the reviews, saying it was narrow for those with wide feet, I got a 1/2 size larger, as well as ordering a D width. The cut of the shoe, drastically narrows at the toe, which is odd compared to every New Balance shoe I ever had. So I sent it back, and got the extra wide. It still was too narrow, because of how the style is. I could not even get my orthotics in them. So If you have a wide toe base, do not bother with these shoes.

Awful! I have always used NB and found them to be true to size. Nope. I use medium width and it felt like I put my foot in a vice. I ended up trying another brand. So disappointing! Returning.

Way too narrow through middle of the footbed. My orthotics didn’t fit.

They felt a half-size smaller and hurt my big toe. Beautiful shoes. I’ll exchange and try another.
