My second pair from Zappos, so I like New Balance shoes, their fit, especially their width, and arch support. No getting away from their looking a bit clunky, however. I hope, however, the straps are longer and have better, longer lasting Velcro closures, because the Velcro on the first pair I purchased, which survived several longer walking-tour trips, lost their hooks and no longer stayed fastened. The straps, short to begin with, simply detached from the strap and stayed embedded on the hook surface. I would have included this review on the appropriate Zappos page, but I couldn’t locate it, so my first purchase must have antedated 2014 and/or been of a similar NB model.

I’m done with New Balance 🙁
Having bought their most expensive Men’s Walkers for 20 years, the newer versions seem to be getting worse. Shoddy construction. This time, the right shoe is somehow off center resulting in blister on the little toe and pain on the inner back arch.

I bought these shoes for the ease of donning and doffing. I was going through thumb surgery and it was virtually impossible to tie my shoes until everything was healed. These were perfect for that. Style could have been better and the Velcro strap, even though you can trim to fit were still a little long. What I think would be nice, to keep that flap end taped down, is a patch of Velcro on the side of the shoe where the tip would be.

I have bone spurs on my big toe. A local podiatrist recommended this stiff toe shoe. The shoe is great and restricts joint movement. A good choice and is better than spring steel insoles.

My husband’s custom inserts fit perfectly he loves these sneakers as they are so comfortable.

Comfy shoes with Velcro. Used with AFO for foot. Extra wide width option is great.

I have had this shoe before and it worked very well. I simply ordered the same shoe by using the info on the tongue of the shoe. The shoe was exactly what I wanted and it fit perfectly.

My adult son is disabled and unable to tie his shoes unassisted. These velcro shoes allow him to be a bit more independent. And, they are sturdy and comfortable.
Dad –
These shoes are for my dad. He raves about them daily and how well they fit. Thanks for the 6E

I have nerve damage in my foot requiring a brace. These shoes allow me to be independent in putting on my shoes. My foot is much more comfortable. I can walk farther and faster!

I have owned 7 pairs of this shoe in the past 15 years. I love the fit and the comfort. I walk about 6 to 7 miles a day. Comfort is a high priority for me.

Purchased these for my elderly, diabetic Dad. Decided on these firstly because of the availability of the extra wide size and secondly because of the Velcro closures. Hopefully, the support will be good as the diabetes has caused him to lose sensitivity in his feet and being able to walk with stability is important.

I had a a similar shoe I bought a decade ago but I couldn’t find my size when I finally wore it down. I got slip on shoes but it was not as comfortable for longer walks or for travel. On airplanes, I can quickly adjust the Velcro strap for more comfort.

I saw comments about too short straps. The first pair I received on this order, the left shoe upper strap was well short of where it should end but the right shoe was fine. I measured the straps and found that the left shoe upper strap was the same length as the shorter lower strap, about 1,25 inches shorter than it should be when compared to the corresponding strap on the right shoe. I received a replacement pair and the straps were correct length Also, new since my last purchase, if the straps are too long, the end tabs are designed to be trimmed shorter for three lengths. Nice touch. For travel, the black leather lets me leave my “nice” shoes at home. As for the fit and performance, I could walk 500 miles in these shoes!

I use your shoes because my Doctor has made me orthodics that work well with your shoe. This is my third pair. The first two, the vinyl sides of the shoes crack and wears very fast. I am extremely disapointed after spending significant money. I only get 3-4 months out of the shoes

I ordered size 12.5 6E and they fit as expected, so that’s good. What I don’t like about them is that straps don’t feel like they’re durable and do not appear to be well engineered for durability. I think that at their base and one by one the straps will eventually start to break, and when they do, I won’t be able to wear them because they have no eyelets for laces. The other thing I don’t like is the soles. They feel like cheap plastic and sound like cheap plastic when I walk across my laminate wood flooring. When walking they sound like they’re hollow. An athletic shoe shouldn’t sound like that. I have another pair of NB’s and some other shoes that don’t sound like these do. For the amount of money I paid I expected better, so for that I won’t by this model again.

Very nice and comfortable shoe , I have been buying these shoes for years and years, The only thing is i find these 928v3 shoes Do not stand up as long as they use to , They start to come apart way to early to what they use to witch is to bad with the price of them . Thank U Rick

Velcro on old v2 wore out and soles started to de-laminate but they fit very well and I did not want to part with them. New v3 are not the same quality shoe.

Had a spiral fracture on my femur near my hip requiring much surgery with supporting rod and clamps etc. in hip area. Told by surgeon no weight on broken leg for 2 months ! After not using leg for 2 months I needed PT three days a week for another 4 months to be able to walk a bit using walker on injured leg. Much pain putting on sneakers with laces so decide to try straps on sneakers. My leg lost an inch in surgery so now I can place inserts in this shoe to balance me. So far sneakers support me well and are easy to put on with little effort or pain. Had New Balance in past so figured these would work well for my current problem. Very few sneaker companies offer such good well supported walking shoes with straps in extra width than New Balance. Glad NB offer this model for people like me.
Frank –
This has been my everyday shoe for more than ten years. As an older person with big feet, bunions, hammer toes, osteoarthritis, bad back and a problematic hip replacement it is hard to find an affordable and comfortable shoe that is easy to care for and get on and off.
However, I have issues with durability. As said I’ve been using these for sometime. My original purchases lasted much longer and I was more active. Now I do very little walking. My recent purchases have not lasted like they used to. I even thought of returning the last pair when after six months I had to have the soles reglued. I continue to have various repairs needed.
In the past I might have as many as three serviceable pairs at once. The difference between them was cosmetic: good, better, best. Now the seams and soles start to come apart much sooner to the degree they have to be trashed, not even good for garden work. Add to this the increased cost, I’m thinking about alternatives

I wear WalkOn ankle-foot orthotics by Ottobock. The 928v3 series with its large toe box provides me room for the AFO, plus custom insoles. Granted, the lace versions of the 928v3 provide exceptional support and fit. The hook and loop version have become a dependable replacement for slippers. I can wear my AFOs for nighttime bathroom visits in the hook and loop shoes and still have the support I need. Safety first!

I’m 70 year old man with one hip replacement and one knee replacement. I need good supportive shoes. These ones fit the bill.
Augie –
I started to wear these when I developed plantar plantar fasciitis. The shoes are super comfortable and have all of the support I need. I have been buying these for quite a few years now and have found nothing better.
Joe –
Love the feel of the shoes. Also, the construction is great! Other velcro shoes I’ve tried have had issues where the loops for the straps are separate from the shoe. This leads to them getting twisted and making it hard to tighten the shoes properly. I’ve also had pairs where the straps are way too short for a wide foot that fits in the shoe. This one is great!
Charlie –
Size 15 D: It is still wider on my foot than I would like, but with thick socks it’s OK. It is difficult to find shoes in B or C widths.
I have become a fan of velcro closures. I had a previous pair of MW928v3 and wore them for yard work. They were easily removed when coming into the house.
This material is easy to clean.
Would like to see this shoe with a 6″ – 8″ ankle cover for outside work, also in a brown or burgundy color.
