Comfortable out of the box, though a bit stiff as all new sneakers are. Shoelaces are slightly short, which is helpful for not tripping over when they come undone (it happens, no judgment), but makes it slightly more difficult for my kid learning to tie shoelaces to re-tie them on her own.
