Ordered these for my third grader and he loves them! Great-looking color combo…gave him the pop of color he wanted with the more neutral style Mom prefers for school 🙂 After his (more expensive) new pair of sneakers from another popular brand started literally falling apart only a few weeks into the school year, I was looking for a well-made, high quality shoe that could stand up to an active 8 year old boy—recess, PE, etc. These seem solidly constructed, with reinforcements over the toe area. Great price point, too.

He is a 6-6.5 in other brands right now; ordered the 6.5 in these and they’re perfect with some growing room.

Fit as expected, my 8 yo has a 4.5 sketchers with some toe room, we got these in 4.5 and they fit the same. I love the look, he loves that we can leave them tied and just slip them on. He has a high arch so other slip ons we haven’t even been able to get on. Hope they last longer than sketchers- he’s been going through a pair every couple months because the tread wears out completely and the colors chip off. Fingers crossed for NB.

My 8 year old has very wide feet. New Balance is the only brand that fits his needs. These shoes are very comfortable for him and he thinks they are cool so, win-win.

My son liked these so giving a 4 but he liked another style of NB better because they had more support. These are flatter with less arch support. Okay for walking but not great for running.

I would have given this shoe a perfect score but the 545s are missing one small detail that makes a big difference for my kid…it has no tongue loop. We are big fans of New Balance and have been for years and I’ve never seen a style without the tongue loop before.

It makes it a bit harder for my kid to manage his shoes on his own. He has autism and struggles with them, hopefully he adjusts quickly. Honestly, I would return them for a different style if he didn’t need them today but at the rate his feet are growing he will be in a new size by the end of summer anyway. I’ll be sure to look for this detail going forward!

Nice Style with good arch support and appear to be well made. However these are not for kids with wider feet. Even the wides were quite narrow

The shoe fit my son perfectly and he liked them a lot, BUT we have had them LESS than a month and the shoe is falling apart in multiple places!! I do not recommend this shoe!
