I had hopes for this court-style shoe. New Balance is my favorite walking/running shoe. It had laces so I hoped I could lace it looser over my instep, where I have arthritis and can’t have much pressure. Unfortunately inside the shoe is a “foot girdle” or elastic band that holds the shoe tightly to the foot.. and instep. This elastic band wasn’t clearly identified in the shoe review so it was an unpleasant surprise. So I can’t wear the shoes more than a minute or two before they are too binding, especially my left foot.
However, if you want a good court shoe and want a tight fit, this might be the shoe for you.

New Balance use to be my ‘go to shoe’ as I have a wide width. I have struggled with the brand of late as they seem to have narrowed their wide widths and have tried several before finally finding this one. This one is still a big more narrow that my experience with their wides BUT it has been working. It has the mesh top which I greatly prefer over a ‘solid’ top. Good court shoe.
