These are as wacky looking in person as they are online, and in a pretty good way. I do suspect, though, they will be out of style really quickly which doesn’t really justify the price tag. The biggest issue was that they were too small for me. NB runs kind of narrow, so unless I can get a wide, I really just can’t wear the brand.

These shoes are very cute and have great cushion however, they are very painful on the ankles. The sides are stiff and come up way too high and rub on both sides of the ankle.

I will be wearing these shoes for pickleball. The shoe has plenty of padding, including on the tongue, and is quite comfortable. The only issue I have is that the outer edge of the left shoe is rubbing on my ankle bone a little bit…I’m wearing them in and am sure that won’t be an issue long term. They are snappy looking! I love that they are available in widths!

The edges of the shoe ride up so high I had blisters around my ankles. Loved the colors, but could only wear them once. Also, for a New Balance sneaker there was very little cushion. Mysterious fail.

I have generally been a K-Swiss tennis sneaker wearer, but this time I ordered both these and K-Swiss and these edged out the others primarily because of style. They fit similarly and I hope these hold up on the court like my K-Swiss have. They were more or less comfortable out of the box although I have a slight pinch around my right pinkie toe – but this is a frequent complaint of mine with shoes which should go away as I break them in.

This shoe was a size or a half size too short. It seems like it would be a comfortable shoe if they had a half size or size larger which they didn’t.

I have tried so many court shoes for pickleball, these are the best. They support the ankles very well, and actually have cushion that has helped my back. True to size, I ordered a 9.5 regular width which is what I get in most my shoes. Love the bright colors too!

This is my first pair of New Balance Tennis shoes. I like them! I have been wearing KSwiss for the past several seasons. I like the wider toe box of KSwiss, but the most recent pair was cut more narrow (despite being the same model and size I always order) so I decided to try New Balance. They see lighter than typical tennis shoes and I like that. They are quite comfortable. It has taken me a few wears for them to feel very good. They were a bit narrow initially and I was thinking of exchanging for the same model in wide, but I think they are good now. I get lots of positive comments on the bright color. So far, so good!

I purchase Bew Balance because they carry wide sizes . My first pair was so comfortable the first time I put them on , by the fourth pair it seems they are not as soft on the inside and a bit stiff in the toe area. I also liked the lime green color they no longer make.
I play pickleball so need a new pair every 6 months. They are durable and allow for side to side movement. .

Still looking for the elusive pickleball shoe for wide feet. I was really excited about this pair, but like the New Balance Fuel Cell 996v5 (court shoes), the stiff collar and its placement (kind of high imo) really rubbed against my ankle bones. Might work for someone else’s foot though.

I just got these shoes and put them on with my orthotics for the first time. I don’t have wide feet but bunions and arthritis make a wide shoe more comfortable. First impression is I love the old fashioned white tennis shoe look. They have lots of breathable material on much of the shoe. I play Pickleball and my feet get really hot and sweaty so that is a good feature. They are wide enough (I ordered wide) for my foot. I also ordered up a half size from my normal size as reviews said to order up. They are similar in fit to my beloved K-Swiss wide Hypercourt Express. Both are very cushioned and nicely envelope your foot. My K-Swiss are great right out of the box with no break in and the only negative with them is the tongue really moves around on me. One potential problem is these New Balance shoes are stiff around the ankle and I can tell this will require some break in time. I’m going to wear them around the house today to see how this feels in a few hours. If they feel ok in a few hours wearing them inside I may keep them and hope the ankle stiffness breaks in quickly on the court.

I wear an 8 1/2 in athletic shoes. Disappointed in the look of this shoe – could have been the yellow color I selected. The shoe felt true to length and width but the rim rubbed my ankles. Having to return.

I’m updating my earlier review. I was concerned that the stiffness in the ankle area would be a problem. I did wear them around the house for a few hours to break them in a little. When I finally played Pickleball in them I didn’t notice any discomfort in the ankle area. They broke in very quickly and they are very comfortable. Good purchase and I plan on buying another pair soon!
Stay –
They run big. Went 1/2 size up after reading some reviews, and when they arrived were a full size too large. I have narrow feet, high instep, narrow heels, (if that helps anyone make a decision). They felt like foam board clown shoes but fair to say NB has the best products out there for feet like mine. this iteration seems forced to fill a niche and entirely unsuitable for me. I will look at other NB models as I have decades of good experience with them, and am delighted with Zappos service.
