I had the v5. Should have bought more. I have high volume foot and like wide toe boxes. I bought same 11.5 wide in both versions. The v7 fits more like their traditional running shoe and had a noticeably smaller toe box than v5. The heal in v7 was wider than v5 which led to foot sliding a lot more. The length was also about .25in longer in v7 than v5. They really shouldn’t have kept same name redesign was substantially different enough to merit being called a different name in my opinion. Had two trail runs in them one half marathon and one 10k. Hoping I can find an insert that improves them since new balance might not take them back since they are got pretty dirty on those runs.

Nice try, but poor execution. Negatives: (1) silly gum colored sole, (2) silly fin at back of shoe, (3) not all that comfortable, and (4) the most glaring issue with these sneakers, the tongue does not stay up for more than a few minutes- it doesn’t even have a loop for the laces to go through. What a poor design.

I used the shoes on 3 runs for a total of 30 km on rural roads and the upper is beginning to worry me. The problem in the ankle collar did not happen to me with any other brand of shoes but it did happen to me with the Hierro V5, V6 and V7. In the 2 previous versions of the Hierro it appeared to me after 400 km of use. An opening point also appears in the flexion of the right foot.

First of all, I love New Balance. These are marketed as trail shoes, so I wasn’t expecting them to get so thrashed the first time I wore them. The fabric covering the toes got really scuffed up by some rocks on the trail. It’s fine, I was just a little surprised. Overall I love the design of these, and they are very comfortable, just not durable enough to be called trail shoes.

I walk my dog twice a day for a minimum of 3 miles each time, through the hills of varying terrain. Sometimes with no distinguishing trail. This is why I purchased the Hierro V7. I was very impressed with the toe box and the entire forefoot fit. It allowed my toes to spread out and provided room for my hammer toe without hitting my toes while coming downhill.
I could feel each nub of the shoe on my sole so it did not feel like my Fresh Foam More V3 that I was loving. Also, the heel did not fit as snug as I would have preferred. However, After about a month of wearing them twice a day everyday, I decided to visit a New Balance store and purchased a pair of Sport inserts which solved the issue of my heel fit and made it more comfortable on the sole of my foot. I would now give this shoe 4 1/2 Stars.

Definitely order a half or full size larger depending on socks. I always wear an 11 in NB but these in 11 were super tight and had to be returned. 11.5 was good though a little bit tighter than what I’m used to, though they may stretch over time.

I ordered these on 7/13/2022 but wore them first on Thursday 08/11/2022.
On Saturday September 3rd they started to kind of feel “off” and a weird noise was audible when walking. I examined the shoes and didn’t see anything wrong, but the next day I noticed the noise more and really examined the shoes.
For some reason they have put soft foam on the outsole of the shoe and it tore within a month of light San Diego hiking.
I am increasingly disappointed with New Balance’s design choices and feel that maybe soft foam should not be placed on the bottom of a trail running shoe, since you walk on dirt and rocks.
I’d LOVE LOVE LOVE for someone to contact me who is designing these shoe so I can express how the quality has been going downhill since the 910s were discontinued.
Foam may be more comfortable for a while but it seems ill suited to trail running.
These deserve a single star or less because they simply broke.

I walk every morning on the mountain. its sandy and rocky. These are the best for gripping. It feels like they level out the ground!

My other sneakers are women’s sz 12 Wide. I saw this style in women’s, but they were sold out, so I purchased the men’s shoe, first in 10.5, but I ended up going with a Men’s 11. I really like the way these feel on my foot. The bumpy sole feels very secure on hard surfaces. I look forward to enjoying these lt. tan/gold shoes for many years.

I have always loved New Balance shoes. I have really wide feet and they have usually been the only shoes that come wide enough for my Barney Rubble feet.

Like the title says, “I’m Completely Amazed.” Yes, I really am. These are the best fitting, most comfortable shoe I have ever worn, hands down. I have flat wide feet and they fit perfect. I wear a size 17 wide shoe. It’s really hard to find shoes that fit. I even had some problems with other New Balance models, but with the Foam X Hierro v7, from the first time I put them on, they were perfect. I didn’t have to break them in at all. I can now walk without any pain on my feet and minimal pain on my hips. Love this shoe. Loved It so much, I ordered another pair the following week. Will have to order two more pairs. A must get shoe.

I’ve bought about 9 different pairs of these shoes over the last four years and they are the best. However, as for this pair, the color is what I would better describe as salmon or even pink. Electric Red leads you to believe they are red, but they sure don’t look it. The pictures on the site make the color appear darker than it is. I love the shoes themselves, just not this particular color. I gave three stars on Overall* for the color because, although I don’t like it, I’m sure there’s someone else out there who wouldn’t mind it.

The fabric on these shoes seems too wimpy to use in this style. The forefoot looks creased even with your foot in the shoes, like they’ve been worn for a long time. Also, the cushioning is actually too much, something I thought I’d never complain about. My main complaint however is the poor workmanship on the lacing system. If you don’t want bright yellow laces and want to change them, set aside half an hour of your time! The holes for the laces are very poorly done with the lining holes not aligning with the outer holes and the idea of getting the front-most laces in from the inside? Forget it. You have to lace it up, at least for those first two holes, going from the outside-in. Hard to describe — just be aware that changing the laces is ridiculously hard to do

I have brick-shaped feet and typically wear a NB 11 4E. These felt tight at first around the toes, so I was worried I’d have to return. After a week or so wearing occasionally, they are now the best fitting shoes I have.

I love these shoes… it’s hard to find wide shoes that work for me. I’ve been looking for a pavement version of these… but the sole on these is so nice and grippy. One down side… the fabric upper wears out above my big toe… far sooner than the sole.
