I’m in love. I have a narrow heel and wide fore-foot. I work in aquatics, so spend a lot of time in my bare feet and have had lots of toe injuries over the years/decades. My toes dislike being crowded. These have room for everybody! I’m tempted to get another pair right away because shoes like these tend to disappear from manufacturers.

I liked everything except how the outside of the shoe at the ankle is cut, which dips lower than the 860 model. My ankle rubbed against the top of the shoe and would be very irritating over the course of a half marathon. I kept the 860v13 and returned the 840v1. In either model, I ordered a half size larger which I urge others to do. I’ve always worn a 7.5 W in New Balance running shoes for years. I again ordered 4 NB models in 7.5 W and had to return all of them as they were all too short in the toe box and too tight. This time, based on the reviews of many others, I ordered up a half size and wider width (an 8ExtraWide) and was pleased with the fit. We’ll see how they wear, as other reviewers are stating that these New Balance shoes have declined in quality and are wearing out way sooner that older models. Bring back USA manufacturing!

Loved them when I first put them on. Now that I have worn them, the tongue on one of the shoes is coming apart on the edge and some kind of nylon or plastic is coming through and has rubbed a blister on my ankle bone. I guess they are defective, but they are unwearable even with bandaids to cover the spot where it has blistered. And of course, when they fit and were comfy, I tossed the box so I have no way to return a $150 pair of sneakers. Guess I am through with New Balance.

This shoe has almost everything I wanted. The pros: I didn’t notice a lot of difference between the height of the heel & forefoot/ball of the foot. It has thick, luxurious cushioning, and a roomy toe box that easily accommodated my mammoth orthotic. The con: the thickness of the sole tapered to next-to-nothing toward the tip of the toe. Every step felt like my forefoot was dropping off a cliff. If not for that, I would have kept these & bought 3 or more pairs of these.

Very comfortable with a lot of support for my double wide (EE) arthritic feet. It is hard for me to find a good supportive sneaker and these fit the bill. EE width fits perfect.

These are very nice looking sneakers. I have always worn 9.5 wide in new balance. They just don’t feel as wide a used to. They also just don’t feel a long as they normal did. I haven’t decided if I will be keeping them yet.
