Too low ankle lots of slippage

I’m looking for a casual walking/hiking shoe that becomes a comfortable extension of my feet for stability and balance. This is an excellent shoe. For me it’s a comfortable shoe but with too much sponginess in the heel.

I have ordered nb Fresh form for a decade. This is the first time it was too big
Cliff –
Too soft and squishy so it wasn’t a stable feeling

True fit width and size. I wear a 4E so Igood looking and feeling shoes are much harder to find. I do like NB shoes for look, comfort, and fit.

Plushest 1080 yet, and a welcome return to 1080 sizing prior to the v12s. The v13 is wider than the v12, especially in the forefoot and toe box. Wore an 8 4E in the v12s, but an 8 2E in the v13.
Have worn 8 2E in 1080s since I started wearing them in v8 after switching from ASICS. Average running 20 miles/week. Glad Zappos finally got the 1080 v13s, and happy to see new colors being introduced as well.

Fits great and comfortable

I’ve been buying the 1080 series for years now. It is all I wear for sneakers. I always have 1 pair that is well worn and used for everyday use + another pair that is new, clean, and for nicer occasions. Always buy the same size. This time was my first purchase of the version 13 and they were too small for my feet. Feels like NB changed their size definition or something. They were at least a half size too small. Maybe closer to a full size.

I’ve been wearing the 1080’s since v10, and they all have been more or less similar in their sizing and support. V13 are very different, and not in a good way for me. They are an entirely different shoe. I tried to like them, even put in my standard superfeet arch supports, and still a no go. Sadly, I’m sending these back. I’m hoping I can still find some v12s and I’ll stock up if I do, as these are the only shoes I wear.

I had to send the first pair back for half a size larger. The toe box on left foot was too tight. I like how light weight it is. I am pleased with the color; not just white like I normally get.

Was wearing Hokas and thought I would try these. Great fit and comfort.

I purchased these as an “upgrade” to my 860’s. It was time to get new shoes, so I went with these in a wider size (14 4E vs. 14 2E). I read some reviews prior to purchasing, most of which were positive. One concern I saw in the reviews is that the shoe really isn’t a “stability” shoe; it doesn’t have any specific anti-roll tech. As a bigger guy (6’2”, 240), I was a little concerned about not having stability tech, as I have had this in most of the athletic shoes I’ve purchased over the years. However, the shoes turned out to be really good. What I have noticed with some “stability” shoes is that they work better for people who have moderate to severe pronation issues (feet roll IN when you step). They’re not too great for those of us who supinate (feet roll OUT when you step), especially on uneven surfaces. I think if you have a fairly normal stride and step – even if you have a little bit of pronation or supination – these shoes will work well for you, especially if you’re walking or running on an even surface. They have great cushioning and good support. I recommend them. Cheers!

Almost perfect! Main problem (and a serious one) is that ankle lips are too high and dig into my ankle on the outside (a common problem in New Balance shoes). Not perfect arch support, but enough to feel okay. Fairly good cushioning in footbed (could use a bit more). I’m going to keep these, but I’ll have to perform surgery on them – first I’ll try inserting padding under heal to get my ankles to clear the high painful ankle dips. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll have to saw the ankle dips lower by about a quarter inch or more and tape or epoxy over the cuts. (Is it asking too much for shoe designers to make a comfortable shoe?)

There are very few great athletic shoes available in the size I ordered, and these were cool-looking and also extremely comfy and supportive.
DEBORAH –
These shoes look and feel great but I wanted slide-on sneakers for my husband.

Very comfortable. Sole feels extremely soft, like memory foam but more supportive. Back of heel is cut away, which means your foot can pivot side to side if your weight is on your heel. At first, this was unsettling (seemed unstable), but you only notice it if you’re leaning back while standing.

Felt Small

Not a better shoe for walking, running, weightlifting, and dancing all night. Spot cleaning with bleach keeps them white. I am still in comfort after 1 year in these shoes and will be getting another pair for work.

Great fit!

Fit perfectly, very light, like walking on air!

These shoes are perfect for me, a moderately serious runner. The fit is great, the sole is soft and cushions each landing, which saves wear and tear on my aging legs, and the tread provides good traction (although I haven’t yet worn the shoes in the rain). The only deficiency I’ve found is that there are no reflectors on the shoes. That’s a small concern if you only run during daylight hours, but if you run before dawn like I typically do anything that can increase your visibility is beneficial.

I am fortunate to be able to purchase my second pair of 1080 v13 ‘s in 2 weeks!I gave this shoe 5 star rating on first purchase also stating that I am a huge fan of Hoka, particularly Cliftons!I will continue to buy Hoka shoes but this shoe is amazing!Fit,looks, comfort, cushioning! It has it all!I didn’t need a second pair to be honest but I love this shoe so much I wanted to make sure I got another pair before discontinuation!I’m just speaking for myself, when i say this shoe is the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn! Absolutely 10 out of 10!

As a long time user of Adidas Ultraboost, i decided to try these New Balance and a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 26. The Ultraboosts seem to have made the uppers super tight with the fly knit, making my feet hurt after several hours of use. So I alternated wearing these and the Asics daily to see which i liked better. Overall, i like the feel of the Asics better, as the New Balance feel almost too cushiony. However, they have a huge quality issue. The toe box in the asics developed a hole above the big toe in each shoe in 2 months of alternating. The New Balance have been perfect. Since the holes developed in the Asics, I have been using the New Balance exclusively.
Took a bit of time, but I have gotten used to the cushiony feel of the New Balance especially coming from an Adidas shoe. Quality so far, has been good. Best of all, my feet feel good after walking 15000 steps daily.
