Did not like the color at all. Returning to exchange for a didn’t color in a slightly different model number.

Wonderful lightweight shoe. The color is too bright for my style, but I will reorder it in another color.
Mari –
This shoe ran long and wider than expected. However, the padding and heel grip was great. I might reorder in 1/2 size shorter and B width. Love the apricot color.
Amy –
These shoes are soooo comfy! The bright color is amazing. I get so disappointed when the WW width has choices of more than black, white, navy or grey. Those of us with wide feet don’t want to look dowdy. So thank you for color. Now when will there be more color choices New Balance???? Could I ever expect something like your line of “figs”?

I worked in health care and spend lots of time on my feet. I’ve tried all type of work shows but these New Balance Fresh Foam are perfect so far. They’re incredibly comfortable and most importantly, extra wide!!
So far I love these shoes!!

Pretty style but very narrow.

This is an excellent shoe, even though it may not be as great as its distant predecessors. I have run in the old NB 840s and their predecessors, the NB 880 line, for many years. (For my feet this series peaked at the old NB 882.) Still, this is a worthy addition to the line. Be wary of the lower drop. This model has a 4 mm drop–compared with a 12 mm drop for the old NB 840v5. That is too much of a change for my tender Achilles tendons. I fixed that by adding a heel cup under the stock insole which restored a 12 drop. With that change, this is an excellent shoe, and I hope it continues.

This is my favorite shoe brand. It always fits true to size for my feet and the color doesn’t disappooint.

The footbed of this shoe is thick and “squishy” and feels unstable. I had to concentrate when I did my walk to not roll my foot. I’ve never had a shoe perform like that before. I won’t wear these for any activity, just maybe casually. The color is also not what I expected–very orange and not pink at all.

Perfect for my poor feet. I love Zappos and New Balance!

The size was accurate. The fit was okay. The toe box was narrow, so these sneakers are pointy. If you have a wide foot, and mine is extra-wide you notice how narrow the toe area instantly. They fit fine, and feel wonderful when you walk but I wish New Balance would make their toe areas wider. When you walk in these they make you feel like you rock forward when you walk, almost like you have a bounce in your step. Rather very nice too!! I ordered the blue/gray which were pretty as well as the black leather. They are nice sneakers but wished the toe box would be wider.

Very cute shoe but runs small.

I wanted so much to keep this shoe. Loved the color and the WW gave me the width I needed for my toes. Unfortunately, the raised platform on the back of the shoes totally threw my gait off and made my back hurt and my legs grew tired as I struggled to get a normal heel to toe motion. Just wish the new shoes they are making would stop making the bottom of the shoes so high off the ground.

I have wide feet and use an orthotic insert, and these shoes are very comfortable in the EE width.

This shoe is fantastic! I ordered a half size up and I’m very glad I did. It has excellent arch support and is extremely comfortable. I’ll be looking to buy another in a different color soon.

unable to use my orthotics’ with this shoe cant use a wide shoe that is too big

So comfy! I think these are even more comfortable to wear and provide more cushioning than my Hokas. The color is really bright, and to me, more of a neon orange color than pink.

comfortable, large toe box Sorry to return but too big for me.
Roberta –
My best shoe thus far! If it weren’t for these shoes, I would have none. Love the low foot drop, and the firmness and cushion are just right.
SwissModel –
It was extremely comfortable. Not sure why the tongue is so high, it rubbed into my right foot. My right foot is slightly larger than the left one. I typically wear size 7 wide, I may try size 7 Xtra wide.
Suzie –
Overall the shoes fit well, like the prior models. However, the shoe laces are too short and not stretchy enough. I had to take my prior laces from this model series to stop going crazy with untied shoes all day.

They’re a little on the narrow side but okay.

I ordered these shoes to replace my worn out regular 840’s. I take a daily 4-5 mile fitness walk in the old 840 versions, but am unable to do so in these new Fresh Foam 840’s. I’m unable to use my arch supporting orthotics in the Fresh Foam 840 version since the toe box is much narrower than the original versions of the 840 shoe and wearing the orthotic makes the shoe uncomfortably tight. I’ve tried several times to walk the distance in the new shoes just wearing the liner that came with the shoe, but I just can’t do it, not enough support. I’m keeping the shoes for casual use since they are a nice looking shoe, but they will not work for longer fitness walks. The soles are very cushy but that doesn’t make up for the other shortfall of these shoes. I’m very sad that New Balance is no longer making the original 840 version because it really was my “go to” shoe for long walks for many years.

Never have I ever needed a wide-width shoe. These run incredibly narrow. I have a low-volume bony foot and 90% of the time wear an 8M in sneakers. I tried the 8Ms. Too short and too narrow. I tried the 8.5Ms. Too narrow. I tried the 8Ws. Too short, but good width. Finally, the 8.5Ws are the Cinderella shoes. If you have a wide foot you might need the extra wide fit. I’m seeing this phenomenon in sneakers lately from various brands: Brooks, Hoka, and NB with the narrower toe boxes. Not sure what they are thinking but they are wrong.
