Nice looking shoe but it’s definitely not made for wide feet, even in the 4E size. I’ve been wearing 4E New Balance 940’s for years but the inexplicably decided to discontinue them so I thought I’d give these a try. Comparing them side by side with the 940’s, there’s no comparison. They went back immediately.

For some reason, New Balance is making some of their running shoes smaller and narrower. I have a wide foot and a high instep and New Balance shoes always fit me great. The last couple of years, as New styles have come out, I have noticed that almost all the shoes are smaller and significantly more narrow. Make sure you take this in to account when ordering. Still, once you find the right fit, they are extremely comfortable.

The fit and size were about right, except for the width. It is annoying that shoe companies such as New Balance offer 4E shoes, but the widths are not uniform across the board. I have worn NB for a long time, but it is by trial and error that I find a pair of their shoes that truly fit.

I was pleasantly surprised by how light and comfortable these shoes are. They are my go to for walking, light hiking and elliptical workouts. They felt broken in straight out of the box.

Happy with the extra cushion in the heel. Also Happy this style does NOT have the elastic going across the tongue. Bought another New Balance style that does have the elastic going across the tongue. Returning because too much pressure on the shoe tongue area. I hope New Balance eliminates the elastic band going across the tongue area.

Wide size doesn’t actually have wider sole. I ordered these in a wide (2E) bc I have a foot injury and my podiatrist said I needed wider shoes. The sole on these is exactly the same width as the normal width version (D) – the only difference is they add more fabric. So it’s for thick feet, or tall feet, but not really wide feet. Misleading.

These shoes are awesome. They have a bounce to them that I don’t find in my other trainers. Super comfortable and when I’m running I know I have exactly the footwear I need to get the best run.
