I find it hard to identify current and future models with similar attributes because NB revises and renames their shoes so often. I would purchase the exact same shoes for decades if available.

Wonderfully comfortable and good-looking shoe. However, after six months the upper and sole on one shoe have started to separate, making the shoe unwearable.

The most stylish walking shoe I’ve ever come across. I bought them for work, as I’m on my feet 8-9 hours a night. Very light and very comfortable, and best of all, they are velcro free and don’t make me look older than I really am.

The toes are bulbous and unattractive. They look like clown shoes. I’ll be returning them shortly. Don’t be fooled by the pictures, which portray a sleek, well-styled shoe. I expected more from New Balance.

It’s very comfortable. You don’t buy these for looks. You buy these because you need a pair of sneakers for long-distance walking (ex: if you’re touring the city). These are well made and seems very durable. Happy with the purchase.

I bought these shoes for my backpacking trip to Europe 2015. They are not the most stylish, but they exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and performance. I have flat feet with a good degree of overpronation. I knew ahead of time this type of trip would be painful without the right shoes. I also bought different inserts for these shoes for the 2 month trek across the EU averaging about 5+ miles per day, per city. I would buy another pair in a heartbeat but they have not shown any signs of needed replacement as of yet to this date.

Don’t listen to the bad comments about the looks of 877, they are great looking!!!I have over 20 pairs of new balance shoes, every no you can think know of and these rank in the top 3. Most comfortable shoes I’ve owned,and they are constructed like the old days; with love, pride, and respect.Incredible shoes, that’s why I own 3 pair and once again, from the BEST SHOE COMPANY IN THE WORLD, hands down!!!!!

I’ve found these to be the ideal walking shoe. They’ve been comfortable from the first time I put them on and have used them for leisure wear as well as long walks. They run just a bit heavier than a more traditional running shoe, but are so much more comfortable. In my view, a great value.

The fit was perfect. I immediately took them out for a walk and I have to admit very comfortable. I read the reviews before I bought and some people mentioned they thought they looked like clown shoes because they are very wide at the toe. When you take them out of the box that seems to be the first thing you look at. And then you say…wow…they sort of do look like clown shoes…but then you take them for a walk and you say screw it, these shoes are comfortable. I walk a lot 10-12 K steps per day so comfort is important. If I’m a little sensitive about how I look when I go out for something else I have other shoes to wear. So if you want comfortable walking shoes this is for you. My only other comment is I wish Zappos also sold “Lock Laces”. If you have not tried them yet, you should. They are amazing. You can put your shoes on and off really fast. And since tri-athletes use them why shouldn’t we.

This is the first pair I’ve purchased online. I normally prefer to try before I buy to be sure proper fit. However, 15 4E shoes are not readily available in most stores, or those that are are not to my liking. My podiatrist recommended Zappos, so I decided to check this online store out. I liked what I have seen, and their return policy. I ordered the NB MW877 on Saturday and expected their delivery on Wednesday. To my surprise, they arrived on Monday. That is service – thanks, Zappos!
The shoe looks like it should – typical New Balance design, style, etc. I’ve worn many of the 990 series running shoes in the past, so I was expecting a good fit, comfort, etc. The MW877 does not let me down. They fit well, and feel great. Good support for my 280 lb frame. My long stride is very stable in them, as well. New Balance is a trustworthy brand for my needs. They haven’t let me down. Looks like Zappos is going to be the same, reliable, you know what you get with them each time!

I’m glad I ignored the idiotic questions and reviews. These are comfortable walking shoes. That is their purpose. Appear to be well made with removable insole, which someone said the didn’t. Many statements that they looked like “Clown Shoes or old man shoes. Still haven’t figured that out yet. They are extremely comfortable, easy to break in walking shoes. Glad I bought them.

I received these yesterday. The fit and finish are great. I wear a 9 1/2 D and they fit as expected. The toe box is roomy. Other reviews have compared them to clown shoes, but they don’t seem out of proportion to me. The padding around the opening is thick and soft, very comfortable. They are well-ventilated, flexible and lightweight. The arch support is moderate, but the insoles is removable. There’s enough room for my custom orthotics, but I think I prefer the original insoles to retain the flexibility. The fit may feel tight if also worn with very thick socks. There are no loose threads, missed stitches, or glue marks. The midsole material is molded up around the footbed and the sole is the widest part to the shoe. There is no hard plastic heel cup. I’m 6 ft. 170 lbs. and they feel stable and effortless to wear. The step is soft without being spongy or springy. After wearing them all day with thick Thorlo socks, they are still comfortable and my feet aren’t fatigued. For me, they are much more comfortable than wearing running shoes for casual wear.

I like the MW877 shoes … I’m 76 years old and this is the first time I’ve bought/worn them for my morning walks. Good style and like the dark grey color; wearing them now and appreciate the arch support. Tomorrow will be “our” first walk – a couple miles in the park and looking forward to it. I have been a New Balance customer for years. This is by far the most comfortable I’ve ever had! Large toe box (OK, sorta looks like “clown shoes” as one reviewer said, but I wear a 14 and pretty much all my shoes look like they’re outsized) gives my tootsies plenty of room. Very soft and padded uppers, no hot spots. Adequate support and cushion down below. And on sale to boot! Only negative is the “N” trademark on the side of the shoe is a pukey green color, which is probably why they’re not the most popular shoe NB makes. Overall, I’m in love!

The NB 877 has been the only walking shoe I’ve had for several years. I never found a better or more comfortable shape for the price. Hope NB will keep on stocking this number.

I have a pair I have worn out. I have very deformed feet from rheumatoid arthritis -huge bunions, hammer toes, overlapping toes, shifted fat pads, but can walk several miles wearing these with custom orthotics and extra padding which fit into them. Would like to be able to get similar fit in something more stylish, which is hard to do. Manufacturers seem to think old people like ugly shoes.

I bought these shoes 4 months ago and for 4 months straight I’ve tested them in 2 different countries, 4 different locations: steep uphill and downhill streets of Istanbul, beach rocks and 45 degrees Celcius (113F) of Antalya, and two Ukraine cities, which were relatively easy. Averaging about 11k steps per day, plus, I have a long great toe, which has been like a drill for many shoes, but 877 has done a great job, even though the first inner line was drilled, the outer line is very durable and they couldn’t manage to drill them from inside. Overall these shoes are pretty durable for long walks, they are breathable and very comfortable. Definitely recommended.

This is the third pair of these shoes I have bought, and as with the two previous pairs, they fit well and comfortably, for a great price. I have very wide feet and it is difficult to get shoes that fit “true,” but these do.

I have worn nothing but NB for a very long time, 12 pair over the years. Some are ok (just) but this is the best of the bunch.
The only other was 410v4, wish they still made it.
